Pacific beaches and Mexican culture

From 1700 eur

Salsa, jalapeño peppers, Maya ruins, vibrant Indian open-air markets, the sugar like sands of the Caribbean coast, in short: a tropical idyll in the shadow of coconut palms.

Mexico perfectly combines the natural environment with history and cultural heritage at its best. On the Pacific coast, you'll find idyllic views, coconut palms wreathing sandy beaches beloved by New Age fans, incredible colonial towns and Indian villages lost amidst the mountains.

Flight from Europe to Mexico City.

Mexico City

Mapa Impreza Zabytki

This enormous city of 20-million inhabitants is now on the cultural, culinary and architectural map. The central district is comprised of a fascinating mixture of pre-colonial, colonial and post-colonial buildings. All these are just a part of the display of lively Mexican culture at its best, right here in Mexico City.

Oaxaca City

Mapa Impreza Zabytki Trekking

Welcome to Oaxaca City, the perfect spot to investigate the flavours of Mexican. What lends it such a unique charm is the colonial film-like scenery, its location in the centre of a valley and the well-developed culinary and cultural scene. In the city you'll stumble across tiny Mexican taverns, exotic open-air markets and majestic churches – one after another. Pretty much every night, the centre of Oaxaca breaks out into a fiesta. We highly recommend taking a trip to the nearby Indian ruins and traditional villages or enjoying a bike/horse ride in the mountains.

Trip to Indian villages

Mapa Zabytki

On the second day of your stay in the vibrant Oaxaca let us invite you for a journey to the world of Indian villages interspersed with pearls of colonial architecture. You are going to see the widest tree on Earth, learn how Mezcal is being produced, observe the process of weaving traditional carpets and dying them.

Mitla - the most fascinating feature of the town are remainings of Mezoamerican art - ruins of an ancient Zapotec palace recognised as a UNESCO cultural heritage site. Among those unearthly and magic ruins you will be able to spot parts of original ancient decorations.

Tula - in this town you will find an archeological park representing the art of Toltecs - you will have an opportunity to learn a lot.

Hierve el Agua - waterfalls and surrounding landscapes will give you shivers!

Puerto Escondido island

Puerto Escondido (meaning “Hidden Port”) is most certainly the best of the Mexican Pacific towns. Marvellous beach, the thrilling vibe of the fiesta and a wide range of bars and restaurants make this place a hedonistic spot well worth spending a few days in. During the day, the most popular activities are various water sports: surfing, snorkelling, diving or photo-safari by boat, where you'll see turtles, dolphins and sometimes even whales! At night, people move on to the delightful beach cafes or bars and spend the evening enjoy to the rhythm of soothing music.

Zipolite beach

To us Zipolite is “Heaven on Earth”. Two kilometres of perfect beach, the lap of waves, the Mexican sun and coconut palms bowing gently above the sand -– all these contribute to Zipolite’s particular charm. The magical air of the place with its welcoming nature attracts yoga practitioners and anyone searching for harmony with nature.

Mexico City once again

Mexico City

The hotel is a wonderful combination of world-class facilities (the resort belongs to the Holiday Inn group) and an outstanding location in the heart of the historical part of Mexico City -– literally a stone’s throw away from the main square where all the bars and restaurants are situated.

This cosy guest house must be one of the best in southern Mexico. An oasis of peace designed with great taste and enlarged by a chic backyard is just a couple of minutes walk from the very centre of Oaxaca. Delicious two-course breakfasts, opportunities to hang out with the locals, the spectacular sunsets from the roof-top terrace - all under one roof.

Puerto Escondido

This friendly guest house is yearly listed by as the best in town. We were mostly impressed by its design, immaculately clean rooms, lovingly made breakfasts, romantic swimming pool, proximity to the beach and the most helpful and welcoming staff.

The complex of 16 bungalows where you'll be staying is certainly the nicest place to spend a night in Zipolite. The place is simply magical – bungalows located on a  remote part of the beach are equipped and decorated with taste and consideration. You can start your day with a yoga class and after breakfast use all of the resort’s leisure facilities –the swimming pool, comfortable sun beds and hammocks and an exquisite beach restaurant.

Mexican cuisine has its origins in both Indian tradition and the eating habits of the European conquistadors. Mexicans’ favourite snacks are corn pancakes stuffed with grilled meat and vegetables. There's a whole host of variations: tortillas, enchiladas, chilaquiles, tamales, gorditas and flautas. What's more, fresh tropical fruit can be found on each street corner and the presence of the Pacific and the Caribbean Sea ensures you will not be missing out on the gorgeous prawns and fresh fish either.
